HubSpot’s seats-and-credits pricing applies to new customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from 1 October 2026, while existing customers stay on their current pricing. If you are evaluating HubSpot in EMEA, this is how you buy it now: one edition for the whole account, a seat for each person who works in HubSpot, and HubSpot Credits for email sends, automation and AI agents. This guide introduces each part and points you to the details.

## How HubSpot’s seats-and-credits pricing works

On seats-and-credits pricing, HubSpot isn’t sold as separate hubs: you buy HubSpot in one edition, Starter, Professional or Enterprise, and that edition gives you the whole customer platform. From there, the purchase comes down to three steps: choose the edition, add seats, then cover usage with packs or Pay-as-You-Go. Each step follows from your own figures: the size of your database and organisation points to the edition, the number of people who deal with customers sets the seats, and the features you use most decide whether a pack pays off.

### Edition: one level for the whole account

You buy the account in one edition, and mixed-edition subscriptions are not supported. The edition determines which features you have and the capacity included in your plan. Which edition fits depends on how complex your organisation and your data are, so the number of contacts and users is a good first signal.

### Seats: access for each person, by role

The seat types are the GTM Seat, the Ops Seat for automation and reporting, and the free View-only and Developer seats. The GTM Seat is meant for marketing, sales and service and includes Ops Seat access, while the Ops Seat is meant for operations users who support customer-facing teams. So the question for each person is whether they work with customers. You can buy as few seats as you need, with no minimum.

### Credits: paying for usage

HubSpot Credits pay for work such as one-to-many email, automation and AI agents, and they are used only when a specific action runs. Every paid edition comes with a monthly allowance, and credits reset every month, with unused credits not rolling over. For volume you rely on every month, capacity packs give you a fixed monthly limit at a flat rate, and anything beyond it is charged per credit as Pay-as-You-Go.

## Key terms at a glance

| Term | What it means for you |
| --- | --- |
| Edition | Starter, Professional or Enterprise: one edition for the whole account |
| GTM Seat | For marketing, sales and service; includes Ops Seat access |
| Ops Seat | Selected automation, reporting and governance features |
| View-only Seat | Free; view the account without making changes |
| Developer Seat | Free; access to the developer platform only |
| HubSpot Credits | Pay for email sends, automation and AI agents |
| Capacity pack | A fixed monthly limit at a flat rate, such as credits or email sends |
| Record capacity | How many CRM records the account can hold, contacts included |

## What the model means for your business

- **Costs that follow your team.** Each person gets the seat that matches their role, people who only follow the numbers can have a free View-only Seat, and credits follow your email volume, your automation and the agents you switch on.
- **No separate fee for marketing contacts.** Marketing contacts are not paid for separately; they count as records within your account’s record capacity. Email is charged per send rather than per contact, and all your contacts are available for ad targeting.
- **Budget protection by default.** If the included credits run out and you have not bought a credits capacity pack, features that use credits pause until the next reset date or until you buy one, so usage stays within your plan until you decide to add more.

## How the parts work together: an example

Take a hypothetical B2B company with a six-person sales team, an operations manager and two directors who follow the numbers. It wants workflows that send follow-up emails after a demo request, and workflows need a Professional or Enterprise edition. Its database is still modest, well under the 50,000 contacts from which Enterprise is the usual fit, so Professional is the natural choice.

Next come the people. The salespeople work with customers every day, so each gets a GTM Seat, and the sales manager also acts as Super Admin, a role that needs a GTM Seat. The operations manager builds the workflows and reports, which is what the Ops Seat is for. The two directors follow dashboards without editing anything, so a free View-only Seat covers them. Finally, the follow-up emails and workflow actions draw on the monthly credit allowance, and if the programme grows, the company can add a pack for the volume it relies on.

Each of those decisions has its own page in this guide: the edition, the seats, the credits and the purchase itself.

## Choosing your edition

The edition is the first decision, because it sets the features and limits for everyone. Our [comparison of HubSpot Starter, Professional and Enterprise](https://primeb2bservices.com/en/blog/hubspot-starter-vs-professional-vs-enterprise-emea?hsLang=en) shows the typical size of business for each edition, its record and calling limits, the features it adds and the add-ons you can buy, with guidance on when Enterprise is worth it.

## Choosing seats for your team

Seats are where the budget follows your organisation chart. Our guide to [HubSpot seat types](https://primeb2bservices.com/en/blog/hubspot-seat-types-gtm-ops-view-only-and-developer?hsLang=en) explains what the GTM, Ops, View-only and Developer seats include, how to decide which one each person needs, and what each seat costs by edition.

## Understanding HubSpot Credits

Credits are where good planning pays off. Once you know which features your team will use and at what volume, you can see whether the included allowance covers it or whether a pack fits better. Our guide [HubSpot Credits explained](https://primeb2bservices.com/en/blog/hubspot-credits-explained-uses-rates-and-control?hsLang=en) shows what uses credits and at what rate, how packs compare with Pay-as-You-Go, and the controls that keep usage in line with your budget.

## Planning your purchase

A quote on the new model combines the edition, the seats, any add-ons and packs and, depending on the edition, onboarding: onboarding is a required purchase with Professional and Enterprise, while Starter plans do not require it. Our [checklist for planning a HubSpot purchase](https://primeb2bservices.com/en/blog/planning-a-hubspot-purchase-seats-and-credits-checklist?hsLang=en) lists the figures to collect and the questions to ask before you request a quote.
